Public Comments on Puakō Solar + Storage Project Accepted Through July 5

ENGIE’s Puakō Solar + Storage project was selected by Hawaiian Electric for final negotiations, and as part of that process, we’ll be accepting public comments on the project now through July 5.

This proposed solar + energy storage project in the Puakō area will generate 60 megawatts of clean energy and store it in batteries — enough to power 36,000 households day and night without fossil fuels. This project will reduce Hawai‘i Island’s carbon emissions, bring stability to prices, and protect our environment for future generations.

We hope to work with the community to make this project a success. Details about the project are on this website, and we are happy to answer any questions you may have via email at info@ENGIEHawaii.com or our hotline at 808-315-5531. Comments you send to us at info@ENGIEHawaii.com by July 5 will be included in our application to the Public Utilities Commission.
